On the occasion of the celebration of its 50th birthday, the patisserie Canal from Barcelona decided to renew its corporate identity. As a tribute to the history of the brand, a new name was created, Mervier, which pays homage to the founders, Mercè and Xavier Canal.

After more than a year working closely with Canal, with an in depth knowledge of all aspects of the company, the agency LKC Barcelona is in charge of the redesign, which is applied in several phases from the beginning of the celebration of the 50th anniversary.

Con motivo de la celebración de su 50 cumpleaños, la pastelería Canal de Barcelona decide renovar su identidad corporativa. Como homenaje la historia de la marca se crea un nuevo nombre, Mervier, que homenajea a los fundadores, Mercè i Xavier Canal.

Tras más de un año trabajando codo a codo con Canal, conociendo en profundidad todos los aspectos de la empresa, la agéncia LKC Barcelona se encarga del rediseño, que se aplica por fases a partir del inicio de la celebración del 50 aniversario.

GRAPHIC IDENTITY

Along with the name change of the brand, a logo and a monogram, representing the most iconic product of the bakery, are created as identity elements that function in an interchangeable way.

The corporate identity is applied with a subtle and minimalist approach that contrasts with the bold illustrations that represent the different product families produced by Mervier Canal, based on the same graphic system used to generate the monogram.
